Community Marketplace Multi-Media Edition – Feature List
Below is a list of new features and functionality in the new Community Marketplace Multi-Media edition Support for various content types:
• Streaming Audio
• Streaming Video • News Story • Obituary • Birth Announcement • Wedding Announcement • Movie Review • Restaurant Review • Legal Notice • Image Gallery • Video Presentation • Flash Presentation
For video types, the Community Marketplace publishing system will display an imbedded video player for all popular media formats including:
• WMV
• Flash • MPEG4 • QuickTime • DV • AVI
For audio types, the Community Marketplace publishing system will display an imbedded audio player for the following formats:
• MP3
• WMA • WAV
Bulk Content Uploader – When uploading multiple media files, the Bulk Content Uploader enables you to zip up multiple files into a single archive folder. When the files are uploaded the Community Marketplace publishing system automatically extracts the file(s) and splits it into component media files for publishing. No need for FTP transfers, etc.
User Interface for creating new content instances – An interactive form for selecting content type, assigning attributes with an optional search option for selecting assets is now available.
User Interface for finding and selecting assets – When a content type requires an asset, a search feature is available (see User Interface for creating new content instances).
Push Widget – Provides a central function/feature through which all content types are delivered or published to your site. The Push Widget also provides several levels of content preview including:
• Title: only shows the title in a small font
• Brief: shows the title, teaser and thumbnail • Partial: shows the first portion of the content • Full: this is the full display template. Shows everything. • Map: This displays a map with a marker for each instance. Clicking on a marker displays the instance in “full” mode. • RSS: display content in RSS format. • All: ability to display all content-types. Using the corresponding display template, the Push widget will be able to paint every content type.
Search Content Widget – Allows end-users to search all the content of an existing community. When the “search” button is clicked, the widget will produce a paginated list of matching content instances. Clicking on any instance will display the instance in “Full” mode but the user can set or specify various search parameters.
Daily email digest feature – Allows users to subscribe to a daily email that contains links to new content and new ads that match keywords provided by the user. Users can an “opt-in” and select “Topics of Interest” options within the User Account Preferences page.
